About the Trip

Visit the incredible Temples of Dendera and Abydos on this private, full-day trip from Marsa Alam. You’ll be accompanied by your own Egyptologist guide, who will explain everything in your preferred language. These two ancient sites are among the most beautiful and best-preserved in Egypt, offering a deep look into pharaonic history, art, and mythology.

Your day begins with early pickup from your hotel in a private, comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle for the drive toward Upper Egypt.

Our first stop is Dendera Temple, dedicated to Hathor, the goddess of love, beauty, and music. This temple is famous for its colorful reliefs, impressive columns, sacred chambers, and its beautiful astronomical ceiling. The walls are also covered with intricate scenes of rituals, gods, and pharaohs, giving you a unique insight into how ancient Egyptians practiced their religion and honored their deities. It’s one of the most complete temple complexes in all of Egypt.

After exploring Dendera, we continue the journey toward Abydos, driving through peaceful rural villages and the green fields of Upper Egypt. This part of the route offers a scenic look at daily life along the Nile, with palm trees, farms, and quiet traditional towns.

Upon arrival, we’ll start with a traditional Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant. You’ll enjoy a relaxing meal with local dishes before continuing to the temple — a perfect pause before exploring one of ancient Egypt’s most important sites.

After lunch, you’ll visit the magnificent Temple of Seti I, famous for its vivid reliefs, the King List, and beautifully preserved artwork dedicated to Osiris, the god of the afterlife. Abydos was one of the holiest places in ancient Egypt, and the temple served as an important center for spiritual ceremonies and religious traditions. This sacred site is known for its deep significance and exceptional craftsmanship.

After a full day filled with history, culture, and breathtaking ancient art, we’ll return to Marsa Alam in the evening.
